Nevertheless, those rumors are still unconfirmed, so we need to guess – the size of the battery and capacity, including power outputs and range.

The mileage is hard to compare since the technology is evolving and recharging should be more affordable in the future. Anyway, Toyota is working on a system that can restore 80 percent of the battery in a short period of time, probably 20-30 minutes. Home outlets and speed domestic chargers will take significantly more. If we need to guess, the range of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Electric will be over 200, and no more than 250 miles.
The towing capacity is the biggest question. We saw several electric truck concepts with superb hauling potential. But, none of them entered production. The balance between energy consumption and working potential is still far away from what internal combustion engines are offering.

Again, noting unexpected, since the Tacoma is not the only vehicle that introduces a downsized powerplant. A V8 is no longer available, while some SUVs, such as Highlander, are already using turbocharged four-cylinder units instead of bigger V6s. Like with the electric powertrain, the main question is if the smaller block can tow as much as a six-pot mill.
