The RAV4 is the world’s best-selling SUV for a good number of reasons but it won’t get any younger. The current generation has been around 2018 and with Toyota’s typical 7-year cycle in mind, we are pretty sure that the new generation is pretty close. Of course, many novelties are expected, including the all-new 2025 Toyota Rav4 Prime, which will bring massive improvements in terms of the battery and performance, according to the latest reports.
Details are still unavailable, but it seems like the Japanese manufacturer is about to apply the latest technologies and make the hottest RAV4 even better. What that exactly means, it’s hard to say, but the first thing that comes to mind is the improved all-electric range, which is already quite impressive. Furthermore, the all-new 2025 Toyota Rav4 Prime will benefit from all improvements that will come with this redesign – in terms of technology, ride quality and overall quality.

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind about this particular version of the RAV4 is further technological advance. The current model features a pretty impressive setup, based on a 2.5-liter engine and with a combined output of 300+ horsepower. Moreover, this SUV also offers quite an impressive EV range, which goes over 42 miles.
The new model should bring further improvements. Of course, it will be more powerful, though we don’t expect to see anything radical because the basics of the system will probably remain the same. One of the possibilities is to see a classic automatic gearbox, instead of a CVT, which is something Toyota already started to practice in the most recent hybrids.
But most importantly, we expect to see the implementation of the latest battery technology. The officials already announced that, with the new battery, Toyota Hybrids will be able to make over 100 miles in the EV mode. Will the 2025 Toyota Rav4 Prime be able to reach these figures, it’s still unclear, but we have no doubt it will bring a significant leap compared to the outgoing generation.

Of course, the 2025 Toyota Rav4 Prime will benefit from all other changes that come from the upcoming redesign. We are about to see an all-new design and while the previous generation was quite radical in terms of the new platform and similar things, we believe that the changes will rather be evolutionary this time. What this exactly means is that the TNGA platform will remain in use, though with some updates that will allow the implementation of the latest technologies.
Updates should happen in terms of the chassis setup as well, with further improvements in terms of the ride quality. As for the styling, we can already see various rendering photos, which show an even more dynamic design, with a combination of sharp lines at the front and a sleek overall profile. How close is this to the actual production model – only time can tell.
Interior
Naturally, this redesign will also bring massive changes to the interior design. The current model still looks nice but starts to lag behind the key competition. That’s why we count on further improvements, not just in style but also in the aspects that have traditionally been Toyota’s weak points, such as the sound insulation, which definitely has to be better. Moreover, we also expect to see the implementation of the latest tech features, which would include a new infotainment system with more connectivity features, bigger infotainment and instrument cluster screens and many more.
As for the passenger and cargo space, the current model is still quite good by the segment standards but some minor improvements should still come. The new generation might bring slight improvement to the rear passenger room, while the cargo area could gain a few more cubic feet.
Safety Sense 3.0
Speaking of the tech features, we can’t neglect the fact that the Japanese manufacturer has just introduced the latest version of its well-known suite of safety systems, the Safety Sense 3.0. Improvements are notable in various aspects, starting from the improved sensors and radars, while making some of the existing systems work better than ever. For example, new Toyotas will be able to detect motorcyclists as well, while the adaptive cruise control, along with other systems, will be able to detect vehicles from longer distances and apply braking and acceleration in a more convenient way.
Moreover, there are also a few brand-new systems, such as Proactive Driving Assist, a system that automatically applies braking and steering and helps drivers in tricky situations.
2025 Toyota Rav4 Prime Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2025 Toyota Rav4 Prime will arrive sometime in the second half of the next year, with the price that’s a little bit higher compared to the current model, which starts at around 44.000 dollars.
