2024 Lexus ES350 Review: F Sport, Price, and Release Date

A few years ago, Lexus completely updated the ES lineup. The sedan is positioned between the IS and LS, and comes in three variants – ES250, ES350, and the new hybrid model, ES300h. The 2024 Lexus ES350 will be a high-end version with a V6 engine and 302 horsepower.

Since Lexus and Toyota are downsizing engines all across the lineup, so it is very likely that somewhere in the future the ES350 could get a turbo-four instead of a six-cylinder mill. The base ES250 version is equipped with a naturally-aspirated four-pot engine, and the same 2.5-liter plant is used for the ES300h hybrid configuration.

After you opt for a V6 engine, there are a few choices for trim levels. Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, F Sport Design and F Sport Handling are the options. Surprisingly, the ES350 is not more expensive than the model with a four-cylinder unit. The main difference is in the F Sport Handing model, which is not available with a smaller motor. If you are after a hybrid model, then the prices go up.

The power upgrade comes at no cost when you switch to the 2024 Lexus ES350 from the ES250. A 3.5-liter V6 is not longer so widespread across Toyota and Lexus lineup. The ES sedan offers it 302 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque.

The sedan reaches 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, which is 1.8 sec faster than the ES250 can do. A V6 is not wasting too much fuel compared to a four-cylinder engine. The ES350 returns 22/32 mpg (slightly more with the F Sport package). An 8-speed automatic transmission is sending power to the front wheels.

Other options are less potent. A 2.5-liter four-pot mill creates 203 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. It takes more time to reach 60 mph from zero. The gas mileage is slightly better since a smaller engine consumes 25/34 mpg. Again, an FWD and 8-pace gearbox are standard.

If you want extra mileage, then the hybrid ES300h is the best choice. Two electric motors support a 2.5-liter mill. The sedan makes 42/44 mpg. Also, the power is increased to 215 hp. But, the driving experience is way better when there is 300 hp under the hood.

Packages

The 2024 Lexus ES350 will use the same packages as the ES250, and the F Sport Handling as the bonus trim. The sedan enters the market with 17-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, a keyless start, simulated leather and an upgraded infotainment system. It includes an 8-inch screen, 10-speaker audio by Pioneer, and Lexus Enform services. The safety package comes with forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot warning.

The next trim is the ES350 Luxury. Premium package, optional for the base version, is standard here. Heated and ventilated seats, parking sensors, and wood trim are just some of the options this bundle brings. Plus, the Luxury grade is equipped with larger wheels, special suspension, leather seats, and a special steering wheel design are there.

The next package is Ultra Luxury, which costs $3,500 over the previous Luxury. Some premium accessories make this one use “Ultra” prefix. For example, quilted semi-aniline leather interior, HUD and hands-free trunk opening. The most expensive model also adds a 12.3-inch infotainment display and premium Mark Levinson audio.

The F Sport package is the best upgrade for all Lexus vehicles. For the ES350, it comes with unique design features. For example, there are 19-inch wheels. Sport suspension makes a ride smoother. The spoiler is a nice touch at the rear. Seats are improved to maximize comfort.

Pricing

The base price of the 2024 Lexus ES350 is going to stay put compared to the current edition. The base version costs $43,000, the Luxury package adds $5,000 and Ultra Luxury is another $3,500 upgrade. The F Sport is going to be priced around $47,500 and the same price tags are on models with a 4-cylinder engine. The ES350 F Sport Handling costs $2,000 more than the standard F Sport version.

A hybrid ES300h starts from $44,000, but you will cover the difference thanks to the impressive gas mileage (43/44 mpg). The most expensive build won’t be so excessive in price before you start upgrading it.

The Lexus ES will keep most of the color options. New shades could be added to refresh the offer. So, current paints are Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Obsidian, Nightfall Mica and  Sunlit Green. Premium colors are Moonbeam Beige Metallic, White Pearl, Iridium, and Cloudburst Gray. The F Sport adds Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 and Ultra White as unique paintjobs.
