The RC is already an exclusive sports car, but the F package adds even better performance to make it more impressive. It is a coupe version of the IS sedan. An attractive look is not all this car is ready to offer. The 2023 Lexus RCF is the top of the range model with extra power. Since the outputs end up over 450 hp, the car also needed a revisit of the entire drivetrain system. The new suspension setup, shocks, spoilers, and other parts will improve the ride quality.
The 2023 Lexus RCF comes with sharper styling than the base RC, and it is one of the strongest sides of the sports coupe. Also, you must love a V8 engine. At this moment, the company is not planning a hybrid unit for this lineup. Well, the F Sport model won’t feature it at all.
On the other hand, the standard RC might replace one of the petrol engines with a hybrid system. As a premium model, the RCF comes with plenty of standard features and options. There is still some room for upgrades. However, the company could make it more attractive if the convertible is an option. Also, an AWD is not so efficient. But, Lexus is installing a new system for its SUVs, and the RC car might take benefit from that. If you are a rally fan, then the Fuji Speedway Edition might be the best choice.
2023 Lexus RCF Specs
The drivetrain for the 2023 Lexus RCF is a high-performance 5.0-liter V8 mill. It can produce 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60 mph acceleration time is 4.2 seconds. With the Fuji Speedway Edition, the time drops to under 4 seconds. But, it is a $35k investment you have to take. From those configurations, you can’t expect generous gas mileage. An all-wheel drive is not included in the offer.
The base RC is coming out with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine and 241 horsepower. The engine also adds 258 lb-ft of torque. This is the coupe sports car if you want to save fuel. The gas mileage is 21/30 mpg. A V6 boosts the performance. The 3.5-liter mill can deliver 311 hp. In both cases, an all-wheel drive is optional and consumes significantly more fuel. For example, for the turbo-four, combined mileage drops by 3 mpg, while the split is even bigger for a V6.
Standard Options and Features
Besides a mighty engine, the 2023 Lexus RCF adds plenty of other features that enhance the look of the car. For example, you can notice big 19-inch wheels and special LED headlights. The company also offers driving modes for the F Sport model, as well as the launch control for a crispier start. Adaptive suspension and limited-slip rear differential make the ride smoother. Of course, performance tires and Brembo brakes are the final touches.
Inside, you will find a 10-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, simulated leather, and power-adjustable front seats. There is no room in the back. However, when buying a sport car, you don’t care about this. Lexus Enform includes WiFi, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Optional Upgrades
The Premium Package is the first stage of upgrading your 2023 Lexus RCF. It comes with BBS wheels and leather seats as the main additions. Then, there are heated steering wheel and seats. Front buckets are also cooled. Premium Package adds parking sensors at both ends of the car.
The Carbon package moves on from here with roof, spoilers, splitters, rear diffuser panel and interior trim made of carbon-fiber. Next, it is easy to guess options from the Navigation/Mark Levinson bundle. An audio system now features 17 speakers and dynamic voice recognition.
Finally, the top of the range model is the 2023 Lexus RCF Fuji Speedway Edition. Unique ultralight wheels, paintjob, and interior trim are going to steal the show. The Carbon Package is standard, but with a blue theme. Carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes are both more powerful and look cooler. The exhaust system is made of titanium.
2023 Lexus RCF Price
The base cost of the 2023 Lexus RCF is $68,000. That is $20k more than the base RC, but you are getting a V8 engine in the first place. Premium package costs $6,500. The Carbon bundle makes the vehicle more attractive. But, the price is not cheap – $18,000. Navigation and sound upgrades can be a final touch at $2,800. The Fuji Speedway Edition starts from $103,000 and the Mark Levinson audio package is one of the rare options you can add.
The sports car class is still pretty alive, although SUVs are taking over the market. It is hard to compete with the RCF performance and driving impression. But, Audi, BMW and Mercedes are always there when it comes to performance and luxury. Also, Infiniti Q60 might be a good alternative if you want an all-wheel drive. If the RCF is not too big, Lexus also offers the LC, available in the convertible edition.
