The GRMN is the next stage of an upgrade for Gazoo Racing. Not too many vehicles can get this high-end package. The MN stands for the “Meister of Nürburgring” and the 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN will be the vehicle that is going to wear this badge.
For starters, the name promises a lot. From what we can hear, this edition is going to borrow an engine from BMW. The German carmaker is famous for the performance of its vehicles and the 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN is likely to get a 3.0-liter twin-turbo unit. It seems like a perfect fit with 540-550 horsepower under the hood.
This is not the only performance car Toyota engineers are working on. The Lexus LFA is an all-electric model with high-end specs. Supra will also become an EV, based on the e-TNGA platform, but before that happens, the GRMN model is going to debut.
Specs, 0-60 Time
A 3.0-liter twin-turbo unit can bring the magic. With 550 horsepower, the 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN is going to be very fast. The “Meister of Nürburgring” title is big, so expect big numbers. Or low, when it comes to the 0-60 mph sprint. The clock will still depend on final numbers, configuration tuning and many body parts and details. But, expect a 3.5-sec sprint. Standard Supra GR can do it in 4.3 seconds.
It is hard to guess exactly what Toyota is up to. The partnership with BMW opens the door for the twin-turbo 3.0 engine, but there might be some other solutions. Experts believe the company is willing to test a whole new vehicle and risk the overall reputation. Nevertheless, Toyota rarely fails with its experiments.
Electric Car
Don’t be surprised if the “Meister of Nürburgring” is an all-electric vehicle. Toyota’s e-TNGA concept is being under development for years and there are some PHEV models deploying the advanced technology, which gives them an edge over the competition. Soon, there will be more EVs. Unfortunately, high-performance cars are not the priority, but those should be there as well to draw attention. The Lexus LFA is one of the potential future cars which might debut pretty soon. But, not before 2025. For the 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN, electric technology won’t be ready to deliver a fair deal. Engineers can make a beast, but it will cost an arm and a leg.
Standard Supra Configuration
Under the bonnet of the Mk6 Supra is a 2.0-liter turbo-four unit with 255 hp and 295 lb-ft. Well, drivers are going to take the better version, since a 3.0-liter turbo I6 is also available. In this case you will get 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque and the best performance on the current Supra. So, the next stage will bring it over 500 ponies.
To do so, engineers are going to install a twin-turbo system to maximize the potential of the engine. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard and you can also opt to pair an I6 with a 6-pace manual gearbox. It makes a ride sportier. We doubt the stick will be there for the 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN, only auto transmission.
2024 Toyota Supra GRMN Body Upgrades
The new GR Supra is an attractive vehicle. But, it is nothing that the 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN is going to look like. The first concept images are showing special graphics, bumpers, spoilers, wheels, and many other details. But, the final product is not ready yet and the company is not teasing this high-performance car. All we know for now are coming from the chief engineer Tetsuya Tada, who told fans “something will be introduced eventually”.
2024 Toyota Supra GRMN Competition
The 2024 Toyota Supra GRMN will be a vehicle for special occasions, such as 24 Hours of Le Mans race. So, the car won’t be in sale. But, if you are looking for a beast on the road, that is definitely the Porsche 911. It is also becoming an EV, but the German carmaker will keep a classic internal combustion engine for the best impression.
