2024 Lexus NX 250, 350, 350h, and 450h+ Review

The 2024 Lexus NX is offering one of the widest lineups. Well, there is also the RX with optional upgrades and hybrid powertrains. On the NX, you can upgrade the base version with a turbo engine as well. The main difference between packages is in the drivetrains, but also every higher grade brings more advanced features. The favorite model is definitely the F Sport.

Long story short – the entry-level crossover will cost you $40,200, which is a fair price for the premium model. There are four different powerplant configurations, each belonging to separate trim levels. The 2024 Lexus NX 250 is the base, and you move to the NX 350 with a turbo unit. There are also two hybrid configurations for the NX 350h and NX 450h, which is the PHEV. Soon, Lexus could launch an all-electric powertrain. But, before that happens, the company will have to introduce an existing UX300e to the US market.

2024 Lexus NX 250 Highlights

The base version of the entire 2024 Lexus NX lineup is the NX 250. The crossover is using a 2.5-liter engine with 203 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The system is also using an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. Optionally, you can buy an AWD.

Highlights of the standard package are 18-inch wheels, heated seats, a 10-inch infotainments screen and a 10-speaker sound system. The safety system is already bringing some advanced options. Buyers can also opt for Premium and Luxury packages, plus some additional stand-alone features. The panoramic sunroof is exclusive for top trims.

2024 Lexus NX 350 with Turbo Engine

The main upgrade for the 2024 Lexus NX 350 is a turbocharger. Also, instead of a 2.5-l unit, there is a 2.4-l displacement. Total outputs are 275 hp and 315 lb-ft, which make the crossover faster. The transmission sends power to all wheels. So, a $3,000 price bump seems to be worth of investment. Even the gas mileage is not bad with 25 mpg combined.

Again, there are Base, Premium and Luxury models. There are small modifications compared to the NX 250. For example, Premium package offers kick sensors for the liftgate, sunroof and parking sensors. Luxury model comes with some top of the range options, such as a quilted leather interior, HUD, or a huge 14-inch infotainment screen. Still, the favorite option is the F Sport package. It won’t upgrade the specs, but the crossover looks way sportier with unique bumpers, wheels and interior.

2024 Lexus NX Hybrids: NX 350h and 450h+

If you are looking for the top of class gas mileage, then hybrid engines are the best choice. A 2.5-liter engine is the main source of power. The company adds a battery to squeeze 239 horsepower. A more important boost is in the fuel economy, where the 2024 Lexus NX 350h returns 39 mpg. A CVT and AWD are standard.

Like the NX 250, the entry-level hybrid comes in the Base, Premium and Luxury editions. The price is higher, but better gas mileage will make it up really fast. Premium package adds ventilated front seats and hands-free liftgate.

The 2024 Lexus NX 450h+ is the most powerful and the most expensive model in the lineup. The starting price is just under $60,000. The plug-in hybrid is not offering too many options, with the F Sport being the only available upgrade. The Base package comes with 20-inch wheels, sunroof, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, navigation, voice assistant… The safety bundle packs almost all the features available.

But, the most important upgrade is the PHEV drivetrain. A 2.5-liter mill is able to deliver 302 hp thanks to the powerful electric enhancement. The plug-in system also offers 37 miles of electric range. Combined, gas mileage is 36 mpg. The entire system is the most powerful in the lineup with 302 hp. As for the regular hybrid, a CVT and AWD are standard.

Prices

The base version of the crossover is available at $40,200 and the upcoming 2024 Lexus NX 250 should be at the same level. All-wheel drive is going to cost $1,600, Premium package is a $3,000 upgrade, while the Luxury package adds another $3,000 in features.

A turbocharged engine increases the price by $2,400, while the $1,600 AWD is already included. The F Sport is the special model for this configuration and it makes the NX 350 cost just under $50k. The Luxury trim makes the price leap over that mark.

The base hybrid is slightly more affordable. Prices of the 2024 Lexus NX 350h and NX 350 are pretty similar. The PHEV is a serious upgrade that requires a serious investment. The entry-level version is already heavily-loaded and the pricing starts from $59,000. The F Sport adds a few unique parts and you must pay around $1,500 to get this one. In the future, the NX will definitely go all-electric. For now, Lexus is not unveiling details and release date.
